Vegan Journey

I started my vegan journey in June 2017 and what an experience it has been! I initially started my vegan journey by taking baby steps, having a vegan breakfast such as soya milk fruit smoothies, then progressed to lunch which would normally be a salad with mushrooms in place of meat which is a great meat tasting alternative. I then progressed to dinner and wow what a journey that was! I followed lots of vegan pages on Instagram for inspiration and the first thing I did was go to the supermarket and buy all their vegan frozen options such as pies, sausages and burgers! It didn’t take long before I noticed I was putting on weight and felt unhealthily with all the vegan processed food!

I then realized just because It says vegan doesn’t mean It’s healthy so I started cooking my own meals. I have done a lot of traveling and I’m a proper foodie so wanted to cook vegan meals from scratch that was affordable. Through my dishes on Instagram I have received such positive feedback that encouraged me even more that you don’t need to eat all processed supermarket vegan food to be vegan!

I also enjoy exploring different restaurants in the UK and when on holiday exploring the world and I am surprised that in all the country’s I’ve visited there has always been a vegan restaurant or at least vegan options

I guess what I’m saying is that go out and explore the vegan world, try some processed vegan supermarket stuff as let’s be honest sometimes you just can’t be bothered to cook and want to fling something in the oven but also try making your favorite vegan dishes with vegan alternatives or just be super creative.

I am still on my vegan food journey that goes hand in hand with the vegan well being lifestyle of vegan balms and loving every minute of discovering new things.

Even if you don’t want to go full vegan try being a flexitarian of having one vegan meal a week or day as every effort and step counts and you would be surprised how much fun it is!!!
