Vegan working mum

I have always been a workaholic and having my daughter Faye did not stop that! I returned to work part time while Faye was still breast feeding at 4 months old but found a way to manage working for myself & being a mum.

At the same time I started working on the vegan balm business idea with Arione West which has been such an amazing journey especially embarking on my own vegan journey.

When my daughter Faye was baby it was easier to balance work and motherhood but as she has become an independent toddler it is hard work juggling both.

Being away from Faye when her grandma picks her up on Saturday morning so I can work all weekend is the hardest part of the week. I miss her so much but at the same time I want to do my work and develop the vegan balm business. Faye returns Sunday evening and I am able to appreciate her and feel satisfied that I have completed most of my work as I work intensively during the weekend.

I have help from a family member a few days during the week where I juggle giving faye meals, snacks and small play periods while juggling my work on the lap top upstairs and completing all house work and cooking.

Being a working mum and developing the vegan balms business is not easy but I love still being the independent woman I was before I became a mum and balancing both allows me to enjoy motherhood and progressing my career and development.

If you are planning to return back to work or develop a business during motherhood I say go for it! It’s exhausting but so satisfying and I wouldn’t change it for the world!
